المصباح المنير على متشابهات القرآن المجيد
This resource is for the Hafidh and for the one who is studying towards reaching that rank. It is a list of the Mutashabihaat of the Holy Qur'aan.
The word Mutashabihaat is used here in the sense understood by the Huffadh, and not in the manner understood in the science of Ulum al-Qur'aan. An ayah which closely resembles another one is called a Mutashaabih. It is very tempting for the one who is memorising the Qur'aan to ignore these ayaat and to overlook them. But if he truly wants to know the Qur'aan well, then it is imperative that he know which ayaat are similar to other ones and the differences between them as well as where these ayaat are to be found in the Qur'aan, because it is said that the excellence of ones memorisation will be according to the excellence of ones knowledge of the Mutashaabihaat. The aim of this list is to assist in that endeavour.
The haafidh can use this list to identify which ayaat are regarded as Mutashabihaat and then next to those ayaat, pencil in the reference for the other ayaat which are similar to it in the margin of their mushafs. When learning these ayaat one should also learn the others which closely resemble it and pay particular attention to the similarities and differences between them. It is also important to know the location of each ayaah.
May Allaah make it easy for all the students of Hifdh and may He increase the Huffadh in their knowledge of the Qur'aan, Ameen.
