- A haafiz trains himself to harness the power of his brain. So bi idhnillah he will benefit in duniya and aakhirah.
- Someone who learns the Qur'aan, it is a sign that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala loves them. The Prophet salallahu alayhi wa salaam said, whomsoever Allah wishes good for, He gives him/ her understanding of the deen. When people go to memorise Qur'aan, test after test comes to them. And through these tests they are filtered. If he/ she allows excuses to block them then they don't succeed. It is a very sad moment when someone leaves a Qur'aan program.
- What did they do in the golden age? Omar radhiAllahu anhu when they sent governors he said to them, you are going to a people and you see the ones reciting Qur'aan like the buzzing of the bees, don't interrupt them. Don't distract them.
- Allah blesses the person with a noor. But these gifts come with a condition and that is the taqwa of Allah azzawajal. Allah does not give these gifts to just anybody. Fear Him, be conscious and place Him in your heart. Ibn Masood said verily a man will forget knowledge that he had before because of a sin that he commits. Abu Hanifah rahimahullah when he was studying and was unable to come to a fiqh conclusion, he would say I am being blocked from this answer because of a sin that I have committed. So he would get up in class and pray 2 rakah of tawbah, prostrating to Allah and asking for forgiveness for the sins he committed. And then when he would get the answer he would be so happy, not because of the answer but because of the glad tidings that inshaAllah Allah had forgiven him for the sin. That the actual knowledge was based on his tawbah to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. People who commented on this said that only a few people understand this.
- The haafiz of the Qur'aan always has blessed encouraging parents.
- Teacher: You have to have a teacher, an instructor, a guide. You should fear the person that you cannot come without memorising.
- Distractions: Stay away from distractions.
- Audio: Memorise through audio. Read aloud so you are hearing what you recite.
- Location of mushaf: You have to look forward to memorise. If you look in front you will memorise faster.
- Eat brain food: The food you eat directly affects your ability to memorise. Eat a light and nutricious breakfast and lunch. Keep eating almonds.
